STEP 1 - Change eID Password

Navigate to http://eid.k-state.edu

 

If you know your eID and password

 

 

Log in with just your eID (everything before the @ in your email address) and your eID password.

Click on the “Change” hyperlink after the Password Settings heading.

Type in the new password and retype it to confirm.

Please see the eID Password Requirements page for more details on what you need for your password.

Update any information in the lower Password Change options. Please remember when selecting an alternate e-mail address not to use your @ksu.edu or your @oznet.ksu.edu address.

 

If you do not remember your password

Contact ITAC at 785-532-7722. The staff there will ask you several questions to verify your identity before resetting your password.

After you’ve obtained a new password, please login and follow the steps detailed above.

 

If your account has become deactivated

Click on the activate link to reactivate or call ITAC at 785-532-7722.

Fill in the following information to confirm your Identity and match you with your eID.
Last name
Date of Birth
Employee ID number (from your Paycheck)
Social Security Number

Once successfully matched, a new password will be generated for you. Please note the new password is very case sensitive.

Log in with your eID and your new password and continue with the steps above to change your password.

Step 2 - Change Your Windows Password

There are different steps depending on how you log into your computer.

 

On Campus and Off Campus WAN Users

 

 *

Once you change your eID password you should be able to log in to your server with your new password.

 

Off Campus Users

 

 

Changing the password on your local computer to match your OzNet password is optional.

Windows 98

Log into Windows with your old password.
Go to the C:\ drive and delete the .pwl file that begins with the username you use to log in.

Windows 2000 and Windows XP
Log into Windows with your old password.
Go to the Control Panel (Start... Control Panel)
Go to User Accounts
Click on Reset password and change your password.

Step 3 - Change Your E-mail Client Password 

 

Pegasus Mail 4.12 and higher

Open Pegasus Mail.

 

*

Go to Tools and then to Internet Options.

Click on the Receiving (POP3) Tab.

 

*

Highlight your POP3 host listed under the heading “Check these POP3 hosts for mail."

Click on the Edit button.

 

*

In the password space, clear the existing password and type in your new eID/OzNet password.

Click OK to save your New Password Setting

 

IMAP in Pegasus Mail

If you use IMAP to get your e-mail instead of POP3 you also need to update your connection.

Go to Tools and then to IMAP Profiles.

 

*

Highlight your KSU or your OzNet IMAP profile and click on Edit.

In the password space clear the existing password and type in your new eID password.

Click OK to save the new password setting.
