Here’s our field only three days after planting. It doesn’t look we’ve got anything growing just yet. Let’s see if we can find some seedlings under ground.

Here’s a seed that has started to germinate. You can see some small seedling roots called the seminal roots and the white sprout is called the coleoptile. The coleoptile is a hollow structure that grows to the soil surface, stops its growth and the first green leaves comes out through it... but I’m getting ahead of myself.
