general-site-3days-after-plantingHereís our field only three days after planting. It doesnít look weíve got anything growing just yet. Letís see if we can find some seedlings under ground.


germinating-seed1Hereís a seed that has started to germinate. You can see some small seedling roots called the seminal roots and the white sprout is called the coleoptile. The coleoptile is a hollow structure that grows to the soil surface, stops its growth and the first green leaves comes out through it... but Iím getting ahead of myself.
