Wheat is an important crop for Kansas farmers, the stateís economy and for a good, healthy diet. You may not know it, but we eat wheat in some form almost every day. However, we donít often think about where the wheat came from or how it was grown. Donít you think it would be interesting to watch a wheat field as it grows throughout the year?

Well, you are in luck ... weíre going to watch a field of wheat through the year to see how it is planted and harvested and what happens in between. This is a follow-up to last yearís Adopt A Wheat Field website ( We picked the same field on the Agronomy Farm north of Manhattan as we did last year, so it will be fun to watch this yearís crop and compare it to last year's.
