Mixing Height: Represents the height at which smoke will lose its buoyancy and stop rising. Mixing heights are generally low early in the morning and higher in the afternoon.
 

Smoke Dispersal: A numerical value relating the potential of the atmosphere to disperse airborne pollutants from a stationary source. It is calculated by multiplying the mixing height by the transport wind speed. Values are indicated with descriptors such as poor, good, very good, and excellent rather than numerical values.
