Nitrogen Best Management Practices Roundtable

January 26-27, 2005 - Nebraska City, NE

The Heartland Water Quality Coordination Initiative's Nutrient and Pesticide Management (NPM) Team hosted a Nitrogen Best Management Practices (BMPs) Roundtable at the Lied Lodge and Conference Center, located at the Arbor Day Farm in Nebraska City, NE. This roundtable was held on January 26-27, 2005.

The Nitrogen Roundtable consisted of 32 participants from IA, KS, MO, and NE. These participants included university researchers and state and federal agency personnel. The NPM team hosted a similar Roundtable in 2004 regarding Phosphorus BMPs and plan to do the same for pesticides in 2006. Each of these roundtables will be followed by a summer workshop. This workshop is designed to discuss roundtable issues and to establish implementation procedures throughout the state and county levels.
