Problems Viewing PDF Files in a Web Browser?
With all the recent updates to web browsers and Adobe Reader, there have been some issues opening PDF files on our websites correctly. The major symptom of this problem is the PDF files simply don't load when you click on the link, or your web browser may lock up. We have confirmed this is an issue with both Internet Explorer and Firefox.
The solution is really simple. Follow these steps to change an option in Adobe Reader to fix this problem:
- Open Adobe Reader. It can usually be found on your desktop, or in the Start Menu under All Programs.
- In Adobe Reader. click the Edit menu, and select Preferences.

- In the Preferences window, on the left side of the screen, click Internet
- In the Internet section, uncheck the first box, labeled "Display PDF in Browser"

- Click OK to exit the Preferences window, then close Adobe Reader.
- If you have your web browser open, close it as well
- Open your web browser and navigate to the PDF link that is not working. You should now be able to click the link and make the PDF file appear in a separate window.
