The office faculty and staff include
J.D. McNutt, director;
Gayle Price, family and consumer sciences specialist;
Doug Shoup, agronomist; and
Beth Hinshaw, 4-H and youth specialist.
Steve Spencer is the regional computer support tech, and Karen Walters is the senior administrative assistant. We are in the process of filling the vacant animal science specialist position.
There are four extension districts, Rolling Prarie (Elk and Chautauqa), Southwind (Allen, Neosho and Bourbon), Frontier (Osage and Franklin) and Wildcat (Crawford, Labette, and Montgomery). The remaining counties in the administrative unit are Sumner, Cowley, Cherokee, Wilson, Greenwood, Butler, Linn, Coffey , Woodson, and Miami. In addition Lyon, Marion, Harvey, and Sedgwick counties and the Flint Hills District are in the program unit.
In 2013, the Southeast Area Extension Office in Chanute will co-locate with the Southeast Agricultural Research Center in Parsons. Extension and research faculty will be housed together at a new facility located a few minutes northwest of the current facility in Parsons.
