Every time we write -- newsletters, letters, columns, email, Facebook, Twitter -- we can position ourselves as knowledgeable, trustworthy, objective and a partner with our local community.
To maintain consistency, use the K-State Research and Extension style guide. Here are some additional guidelines to help communicate effectively:
Write clearly and briefly. Edit text and eliminate unnecessary words.
Write in an active voice, not passive.
Use a bold headline with memorable wording that reflects your message.
K-State Research and Extension’s news media staff follow writing guidelines from the Associated Press, which also guides writing in publications and brochures (additional style guides may be used).
