Agriculture Today Radio Program Monday, October 22


Livestock economist Derrell Peel of Oklahoma State University
provides this week's cattle market analysis: he goes over the
bullish numbers from the USDA's monthly cattle-on-feed report, and
comments on the closing of a Kansas feedlot, and whether that is only
the beginning of feedlot closures because of the tough economics

K-State veterinarian Gregg Hanzlicek talks about a new test available
to cattle producers through their veterinarians, for identifying the
source of bovine respiratory disease, so that one can choose the most
appropriate treatment response

The president of the Kansas 4-H Foundation, Gordon Hibbard, has an
update on a major fundraising campaign for capital improvements to
Rock Springs 4-H Center and other important needs

And for this week's Kansas 4-H segment, K-State 4-H specialist
Deryl Waldren talks about the assortment of foreign exchange
opportunities available to Kansas 4-Hers in the summer of 2013

Agriculture Today is broadcast each weekday morning at 10:00 on KFRM
Radio, Clay Center (550 AM) and KLOE Radio, Goodland (730 AM), which
collectively reach 75 counties in Kansas, parts of southern Nebraska,
eastern Colorado and northern Oklahoma...the broadcast can also be
