Agriculture Today Radio Program Thursday, October 18


The keynote speaker at the 2012 K-State Research and Extension annual
conference: the president of Montana State University and a staunch
advocate of the land-grant university system, Waded Cruzado, talks
about the present and future of land-grant education, research and
Extension outreach...a model that she says is every bit as relevant
today as it was when created 150 years ago

Also, visits with two more Extension agricultural agents who are
attending the conference, about their local agricultural programs:
crop production agent Chris Long of the Walnut Creek Extension
district in west-central Kansas, and agricultural agent Matt Clark of
Kingman County in south-central Kansas

And for this week's horticulture segment, K-State horticulturist
Ward Upham talks about mid-fall lawn management and storing summer
flower bulbs for the winter

Agriculture Today is broadcast each weekday morning at 10:00 on KFRM
Radio, Clay Center (550 AM) and KLOE Radio, Goodland (730 AM), which
collectively reach 75 counties in Kansas, parts of southern Nebraska,
eastern Colorado and northern Oklahoma...the broadcast can also be

K-State Research and Extension is a short name for the Kansas State University Agricultural Experiment Station and Cooperative Extension Service, a program designed to generate and distribute useful knowledge for the well-being of Kansans. Supported by county, state, federal and private funds, the program has county Extension offices, experiment fields, area Extension offices and regional research centers statewide. Its headquarters is on the K-State campus, Manhattan.
