K-State risk management specialist Art Barnaby shares his latest
calculations on the potential crop insurance payouts to corn
producers in the 18 leading corn states, including Kansas, because of
the drought: numbers that fall far short of some of the extreme
predictions that have previously been put out there...he also
responds to suggestions that producers will actually be reaping a
windfall in crop insurance indemnities this year, saying that
perception is way off-base
K-State agricultural economist Allen Featherstone offers a reminder
about the upcoming K-State Risk and Profit Conference, registrations
for which are still being taken
And K-State's Gus van der Hoeven presents "Stop, Look and Listen",
his weekly commentary on rural Kansas
