Kansas Secretary of Agriculture Dale Rodman recaps the 2012 Kansas
Legislature action relevant to agriculture, beyond the major changes
in water use and appropriation law: increased protection for
livestock producers from fradulent activity by anti-animal
agriculture factions, new guidelines for county-by-county approval of
corporate swine production, and modifications to improve the state
meat and poultry inspection program
From the Kansas Department of Agriculture's Division of Water
Resources, Lane Letourneau then talks in detail about the process of
irrigators participating in the newly-revamped multi-year flex
account program...with key deadlines on that coming up
Today's wheat harvest update features Extension agricultural agent
Todd Whitney of the River Valley Extension District in north-central
Kansas
And K-State wildlife specialist Charlie Lee talks about a new lawsuit
against the E-P-A over the use of lead shot in hunting, and the
adverse impact on non-target wildlife species
