A Short Note From the Chair

Des Moines, Iowa Review

Greetings!
I'm pleased to announce that our new Electronic Media SIG Vice Chair Elect is Tomilee Turner from New Mexico State University.  She wasn't able to attend the conference, but joined us via Skype for the annual meeting.

Other announcements:
Joanne Littlefield reminded everyone about the tour of the Iowa Public Television station.  Thanks to the development fund for helping to make this tour available.

Beth Forbes told about the upcoming EVP conference in Indianapolis.

Discussions included:
Sending hi-def broadcast quality by internet
Blue Ray and Final Cut
C & A Judges
Collaboration with other states on project
Shifting focus from content to delivery methods - repurposing
Building relationships with TV stations - helping to find experts to interview
Helping to fill new TV channels with content
Rural broadband and stimulus money

Thanks to all those who presented at the conference.
For those of you who couldn't attend, you'll find additional materials for several of the presentations on the ACE website.
The Best of Both Worlds: Further Tales of Image Multipurposing
Presented by Joanne Littlefield and Brad Beckman

CourseCast Enables Free Streaming of Video Based Instructional or Video Content

Presented by Bruce Sundeen

It's the Road, Not the Destination: Non-Linear Learning on the Web
Presented by Jeff Hino

Sessions Broadcasted Using Connect
ACE/NETC 2009 used Connect to record (and broadcast) the keynote addresses and selected breakout sessions. This enabled people who were unable to attend the conference to still participate.

Congratulation to Bruce Sundeen for the Award of Excellence - a well deserved honor!

I enjoyed visiting with everyone at the conference.  If you have any tips you'd like to share, or interesting projects that you're working on, please send me an e-mail.

The electronic media website will be updated with a fresh new look this year.  All ideas or comments on how to make it better are welcome.
