Description:
This e-learning opportunity is one session of several planned for 2009-2010 within the theme of "Theories of Adult Development and Aging". The book module consists of: independent study of a book related to aging, response to posted questions in a chat room via www.aging.ksu.edu, and a conference call discussion of the material. Description:
This certificate program is designed to serve local government executives, department directors, and other managers who deal with elected officials and/or seek public participation.

The highly interactive curriculum thoroughly covers group dynamics, problem-solving, decision-making, meeting management, and relationship-building with elected officials and other community members. You will have ample opportunity to discuss and demonstrate the key elements of facilitation.

The certificate program is based essentially on the "learn by participation" method of instruction. Small group discussions, case studies, practice, feedback, and planning activities are emphasized. Lectures and video tapes are used to stress pertinent major points.

Description:

The MAST Program combines new information and decision-making tools with distance education for geographically isolated producers and managers, ag lenders, and agribusiness professionals.

MAST begins with a two-day workshop on the K-State campus on November 10-11, 2009 where program participants are introduced to key management tools and concepts to be emphasized in the program. For the next three months, participants learn through distance education methods, and progress through several learning modules focusing on various farm management tools and their application. After completing the distance education portion of the program, participants return for a final two-day program on February 9-10, 2008 that will emphasize applying tools and concepts to their individual farm situations.

General topics include: Land and Ownership and Leasing, Machinery Ownership and Leasing, Financial Management, Human Resource Management, Tax Planning &

Description:
The program development training for new agents is an introduction to program planning, implementation, and evaluation.  This is an opportunity to learn and sharpen existing action plans and to hone the outcomes to audience needs.  This will be accomplished by dividing participants into teams, each team choosing a program action plan, and then creating and delivering a presentation to a "funder or program decision maker" based on local needs and the anticipated positive changes to clientele.

Description:
Nationally acclaimed beef production symposium that covers all facets and current topics in beef production. The event is a bi-annual educational event designed as in-service training for cow-calf ranchers. It will feature well-known speakers who will provide updates on production topics in the areas of beef industry issues, genetics, reproduction, range and forage management, cattle health, beef nutrition and more.

The event includes a two-and a half day educational program, bull-pen sessions with the speakers each evening and a trade show with displays from the beef industry.

Description:
Design for Learning is a distance learning experience that will help you develop educational programs for your target audiences. North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska and Kansas are cooperating to offer Design for Learning to extension professionals in the four states. The October 9 through December 4, 2009, class will be facilitated by Nebraska.

The program will have five learning sessions conducted via conference call. Participants may also want to have access to a computer to view any visuals that are part of the session.

* November 6, 2009 Examining and organizing content, including logic model
