Affymetrix GeneChip Service


 

We provide complete service in Affymetrix GeneChip processing including target preparation, target hybridization, probe array washing, staining, scanning, and data generation. We highly recommend to analyse your RNA samples by the Nanodrop Spectrophotometer prior to submission. For the typical gene expression analysis the minimum total RNA concentration can be processed is 100ng/µl, although 200ng/µl concentration is highly recommended. An optical density (260/280) of the sample should be >1.8. No RNA samples maybe accepted without the Bioanalyzer quality analysis. The minimum amount of total RNA needed to start the reaction is 500 ng. We highly recommend you to prepare and provide us some extra amount of RNA, i.e., 1-2 µg, to ensure timely process of your samples. For all other types of samples please contact us for further information. Samples will be processed on first-come, first-serve basis.

The Affymetrix GeneChip System is purchased through the National Science Foundation, Major Research Instrumentation grant DBI-0421427 awarded to Drs. Karen Garrett, A. Philine Wanggemann, Jianfa Bai, Michael Herman, and Jan Leach. The 30% matching fund is kindly provided by different colleges and departments of Kansas State University.
