General Information

The Sixth Heat Treatment Workshop is sponsored by the Propane Education and Research Council, and in part, by the United States Department of Agriculture, Cooperative State Research, Education, and Extension Service through a grant under the Methyl Bromide Transitions Program.  The workshop is organized and hosted by the Department of Grain Science and Industry at Kansas State University. The Fifth Heat Treatment Workshop was held in 2004, and proceedings for all five previous workshops can be obtained at http://www.ksre.ksu.edu/grsc_subi under the Conferences/Workshops link. Researchers, heat treatment practitioners, and heat treatment service providers will share practical information on heat treatment technology, and the participants will gain first hand experiences by observing heat treatment of K-State’s state-of-the-art Hal Ross Flour Mill.  The goal of this workshop is to bring awareness and promote heat treatment as a methyl bromide alternative.

The workshop is limited to a maximum of 50 participants. Therefore, it is important to
register in advance to participate in this workshop.
