ESP Mid Month Message - January
Dear ESP members,
I hope 2012 is going good for you. Hopefully you have had time to reflect on your goals and objectives for the new year.
I would like to encourage all committee members to engage and become involved in the ESP committee process. Remember the old saying, “you only get out what you put into it!” It holds true for ESP as well! All committees should be or have met and are working on making accomplishments for 2012. If you have not been contacted by your committee chair, drop them an email inquiring about the goals and objectives of your specific committee.
If you are unsure of your committee along with the responsibilities, be sure and check our website at www.ksre.ksu.edu/esp-AlphaRho.
Your ESP council meets on a bi-monthly basis, and our next council meeting is scheduled for Thursday, February 16. Each committee chair shares the discussion and accomplishments of their group .
Committee work is a vital component of any organization. Here are a few tips to remember from the "Transportation National Research Council" about committees:
✓ Communicate with members regularly.
✓ Communicate clearly all pertinent information regarding committee activities and expectations
✓ Follow up every request so that committee members understand specifics of what is requested.
✓ Keep as many committee members involved as possible; do not hesitate to write, email, phone, or converse with others who are interested in the committee's activities.
✓ Answer all correspondence quickly.
✓ Praise members' good work in writing and verbally at meetings.
✓ Maintain a sense of humor.
Thanks again in advance for your continued involvement in the committees of ESP. Without your hard work, our chapter activities would not be possible.
