  • SRP1107G-NTEP-ZOYSIA-AND-BERMUDA
    SRP1107G-NTEP-ZOYSIA-AND-BERMUDA
Winter Survival of 2013 National Turfgrass Evaluation Program Zoysiagrass and Bermudagrass Entries at Kansas Locations

Turfgrass Research 2014, SRP1107, July 2014. Only a few entries in the zoysiagrass and bermudagrass National Turfgrass Evaluation Program (NTEP) trials exhibited good survival following the 2013–2014 winter and will be suitable for use in Kansas. Contribution number 14-394-S from the Kansas Agricultural Experiment Station. 4-page, color.

  • SRP1107B-CODY-BUFFALOGRASS-HERBICIDES
    SRP1107B-CODY-BUFFALOGRASS-HERBICIDES
'Cody' Buffalograss Tolerance to Combination Postemergent Broadleaf-Weed Herbicides

Turfgrass Research 2014, SRP1107, July 2014. Plots treated with all evaluated herbicides recovered to an acceptable level 28 days after application. Contribution number 14-394-S from the Kansas Agricultural Experiment Station. 4-page, color.

  • SRP1107D-MOSS-FERTILITY
    SRP1107D-MOSS-FERTILITY
Effects of Nitrogen Source and Spray Volume on the Establishment of Silvery-Thread Moss

Turfgrass Research 2014, SRP1107, July 2014. Applying soluble nitrogen increases silvery-thread moss (Bryum argenteum Hedw.) cover. Pots treated with ammonium sulfate (AMS) had more moss cover compared with urea and the control. B. argentum dry weight increased when sprayed with AMS. Contribution number 14-394-S from the Kansas Agricultural Experiment Station. 3-page, color.

  • SRP1107I-ZOYSIA-COLORANTS
    SRP1107I-ZOYSIA-COLORANTS
Evaluation of Colorants on 'Meyer' Zoysiagrass

Turfgrass Research 2014, SRP1107, July 2014. Turf colorants effectively enhanced green color of dormant zoysiagrass. Using a higher application rate or adding a midwinter application helped color persistence. Colorants increased canopy temperatures more than soil temperatures, which may encourage earlier spring greenup. Contribution number 14-394-S from the Kansas Agricultural Experiment Station. 3-page, color.

  • SRP1107H-ROUGH-BLUEGRASS-CONTROL
    SRP1107H-ROUGH-BLUEGRASS-CONTROL
Evaluation of Selective Herbicide Combinations and a Plant Growth Regulator on Rough Bluegrass Control

Turfgrass Research 2014, SRP1107, July 2014. Three applications of Velocity 17.6 SG at 6 oz/a consistently reduced rough bluegrass cover and provided up to 92% control 16 weeks after initial treatment (WAIT). Contribution number 14-394-S from the Kansas Agricultural Experiment Station. 3-page, color.
