Extension Agents are located in 105 county or district offices across the state and are jointly employed by K-State Research and Extension and local County Extension Councils or District Governing Bodies. Their role is to provide leadership in the development, dissemination, and implementation of research-based educational programming in local communities.
There are agent positions in the following disciplines:
• 4-H Youth Development
• Agricultural and Natural Resources
• Family and Consumer Sciences
• Community and Economic Development
Basic requirements include a bachelor’s degree in a field related to the responsibilities of the position, and evidence of a strong academic performance as demonstrated by college transcripts, acceptance into a graduate program and/or documented success in increasingly responsible professional positions.
