Video conferencing communication travels over the Internet, not telephone lines. This means no phone bill and higher video quality.
 
 
 
Using a Polycom video conferencing system you can: 
  • conduct meetings and teach classes without incurring travel costs. 
  • connect to one other site or seven sites within Kansas or beyond for the same price: $0
  • Polycom affords a rich learning environment. You can:
  • show a videotape or animation.
  • work with objects or "write on the whiteboard" using the document camera.
  • navigate through Web pages.
  • deliver PowerPoint™ presentations.
  • connect to your notebook computer.
  • use your creativity to keep interaction and enthusiasm ramped up.

    K-State Research and Extension has a number of video conferencing units. Funded by a federal grant to the Foods and Nutrition Program, this equipment is available to you at no cost. Check our locations periodically because they change.
     
    You'll need to make sure these and any other participating sites are available before you schedule with us. Check the point-of-contact information page for contacts at each site.
     
    In addition, you can hold a video conference with your colleagues across the state and country as long as they are using  H.323-compliant or H.320-compliant video conferencing equipment.
