To improve surface water quality in Kansas streams. Cost sharing funds and technical assistance are available to help landowners and operators implement practices to reduce Nonpoint Source Pollution. The aim of this project is to produce multi-media presentations that will inform and educate land users across the state about cost share assistance for water quality improvement projects.
Team members developed information and collected photos to illustrate the material. Compact discs were produced using the information, photos and appropriate narration. The material was arranged in segments. Each segment was presented in written format, illustrated with photos and ended with an interactive self test.
Workshops were held to provide in-depth information for appropriate agency staff. Publicity about the project and its results were accomplished through mailings to each county Extension Office and Conservation District, direct contact with agencies and the news media.
The team worked with K-State Research and Extension communications staff to collect illustrations and materials, to organize them into an interactive format, and to produce the CDs.
