Keeping food safe is a challenge and education is important to learn how to handle food safely.  Many people do not think about the safety of food until a foodborne illness occurs.  The food supply in the United States is one of the safest in the world.

Food Safety Education Month 

National Food Safety Education MonthSeptember is designated as National Food Safety Education Month.  The goal is to bring focused attention to food safety and encourage food safety in all aspects of life. 


The Foodborne Outbreak Online Database has been designed to allow the public direct access to information on foodborne outbreaks reported to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). This database is searchable by year, state, location, and etiology.
