There are six basics you should stock in your home, in case of an emergency:

There are many organizations to help you during a disaster or help you recover from one, including Extension Disaster Education Network (EDEN). The mission of EDEN is to reduce the impact of disasters through research-based education.

Other organizations that can help before, during and after an emergency include the Kansas Department of Health and Environment, National Weather Service, and the Kansas Division of Emergency Management. It's also good idea to know your local emergency resources and post their telephone numbers somewhere in your home – a place where the whole family can see it.

K-State Research and Extension helps Kansans balance use and protection of natural resources today and into the future. Our efforts in this area are most apparent through KCARE and KCSAAC, but carry over to every department, office, and center within our organization.
